Ways to Show You Care

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the OCPL branch libraries are volunteers who are interested in promoting the library to the community, enriching resources, providing legislative support and sponsoring Cultural programs. Funds raised by the Friends support children's programs among other projects. Check with your local branch on membership.

Friends of the Library Used Bookstores

Bargains are found at Friends of the Library Used Bookstores and used book sales. Revenue from used book sales supports local branches. Visit one of the many used bookstores for hardbacks, paperbacks and other items.

OCPL Foundation

Addressing an Unmet Need

In a time of ever-tighter budgets, taxpayer dollars and money raised through the great work being done by the local Friends of the Library groups can only go so far.

What doesn’t always get addressed before the funding runs out are the things that need to be done in order to transform our county-wide system into the library system of the future. The Orange County Public Library Foundation was formed to expand the resources of the Orange County Public Libraries system and support this transformation.

Please Join Us in This Endeavor!

Volunteers provide invaluable hours of assistance to branches and OCPL administrative headquarters. These individuals are trained in a variety of ways by professional librarians to help where needed. Ask your branch librarian about volunteering to work in your library or go to the County of Orange Volunteer's Web Page.
