Created by County Board Resolution 96-903 on Dec 12, 1996, the Library Advisory Board has 26 members, comprised of 24 city council members appointed by the member cities and 2 County Supervisor members appointed by the Board of Supervisors; members serve two-year terms and receive no compensation. The LAB meets three times a year and acts in an advisory capacity, reviewing the OC Public Libraries’ budget, operations and policy decisions and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. Meetings are open to the public in accordance with the Brown Act.LAB Bylaws
