Yorba Linda Evacuations Downgraded To Voluntary

MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER LIFTED

VOLUNTARY EVACUATIONS IN EFFECT

12-15-2008: As of 3:30 p.m. all mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted. Voluntary evacuations remain in effect and residents are encouraged to remain vigilant as the recent heavy rainfall has created the potential for mud and debris flows in and below burn areas. Local officials will continue to monitor the surrounding terrain, watershed from the Chino Hills State Park, and current soil conditions.

This evacuation order covers the Box Canyon, Brush Canyon, North Fairmont/San Antonio areas, as well as the commercial structures west of Via del Rio and north of La Palma

A shelter for displaced residents at the Thomas Lasorda Field House at 4701 Casa Loma Avenue will remain open until 10 p.m., Monday, December 15.

Animals may be sheltered at Orange County Animal Care Services by calling (714) 935-6848.

Residents who wish to receive alerts (via AlertOC) on their cell phones, text numbers and e-mail addresses must register at www.alertoc.com. Otherwise, the AlertOC telephone noticing system will only send messages to residential landline telephones.
