The Orange County Public Library makes a difference in your community, and you can help us make a great library system better through your donation.
Why donate to your tax-supported Library? There are lots of needs in our communities and resources are always scarce. Your donations help us enhance the quality of the library in your community.
Your donations support your library now and in the future, to do things like purchase additional printed materials, upgrade and replace equipment, and expand programming for both children and adults. The Orange County Public Library Administration and Advisory Board will ensure all gifts are used to benefit library patrons and the community.
While the typical donation is an outright gift, more substantial amounts may be structured in a number of ways that can increase your tax benefits or enhance the effectiveness of your grant. This type of gift is arranged in advance, and examples are listed below under planned giving.
Whatever amount you choose to give to the Library, you may be sure that your support is truly appreciated and your generosity will enable the Orange County Public Library to continue to meet the needs of the community.
Donations
By making contributions in your lifetime, you can take advantage of the charitable deduction on your income tax return.
Ways to give:
Gifts of cash. The Library appreciates gifts in any amount. You can make your donation by check or credit card. Click here to donate now by credit card – we accept all major credit cards.
Gifts of stocks or bonds. The Library welcomes contributions of various financial assets.
Memorial Gifts. Gifts which honor or memorialize a special person or event. The honoree will receive an acknowledgement sent by the Library. Please specify whom you would like to honor or memorialize and who should be notified of your generous gift.
Matching Gifts. Corporate matching gifts are a wonderful way to maximize your donation. Contact your employer's Human Resources Department to find out if your gift is eligible and what form, if any, you may need to complete.

PLANNED GIVING
A planned gift is one that you arrange in advance. This type of gift to the Library allows you to create a legacy for our community while meeting your own financial and personal objectives. Examples of planned gifts are:
Wills and Trusts. You may choose to leave a portion of your estate to the Library by naming it in your will or trust. Bequests such as these are simple to arrange, offer flexibility, and can reduce estate taxes.
Life Insurance. You may wish to name the Library as a beneficiary of an insurance policy.
Life Income Plans. There are a number of ways to donate cash, securities, or other property and arrange lifetime payments for you or your loved ones, with various tax advantages.
