On Tuesday, February 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. and 3 =
p.m., take a trip back in time with Irvine Park Railroad’s (located in=
side Irvine Regional Park) Fourth Grade California History Education P=
rogram Family Day for homeschooled students. Usually only offered for =
school field trips, Irvine Park Railroad will open the program up to t=
he public for one day only. Created by teachers, for teachers, this ha=
nds-on learning experience meets the State of California curriculum re=
quirements for fourth grade history.Six different stations make up the=
 program: a ride on the Irvine Park Railroad train, an authentic mine =
shaft, miner’s camp, water wheel that runs a replica sawmill and a his=
toric old west building complete with a jail cell and saloon. Visitors=
 can also pan for gold just like the 49’ers did during the gold rush. =
   Recommended for children 7 to 12 years old.    Parking: $3 per vehi=
cle    Cost: $14 per person
